About the Journal "Tetsu-to-Hagané"
Tetsu-to-Hagané is a peer-reviewed academic journal published in Japanese by the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan (ISIJ), and an open access journal dedicated to the publication of research addressing fundamental and technological aspects of iron, steel, and related engineering materials. Articles describe the properties, structure, characterization and modelling, processing, fabrication of iron and steel, as well as report on associated environmental issues.
It was first published in 1915 as an academic journal representing ISIJ. By 1995, it had served both as a journal and as a bulletin. Since the appearance of the independent bulletin "Ferrum" in January 1996, it has been published solely as a journal. It carries articles by members of ISIJ and review articles the Editorial Board selects or requests, providing members an opportunity to publish their research results and also distributes the latest information to members.
